Water Color

I saw this design on Pinterest and loved it so much that I decided to try it with my new Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  Of all the mediums I have tried thus far, I am most pleased with the ease in blending with these markers.  I used water color paper for the image.  The background was trimmed in gold sticky tape.  I would have liked the message to show a little better, but I guess one learns by mistakes!  I used the Altenew Vintage Roses stamp set.  I was inspired by Darlene DeVries' video (Live Love Cards) that shared spectacular water color results using the distress markers.

  1. I am not the next person to post in the LLC challenge. Even so, I had to visit to tell you your card is so elegant. Would be perfect for a wedding or feminine birthday too.

    1. Thanks so much! As you can see, I don't get much "traffic" on my blog, and I appreciate your kind comment.

  3. Hello Dawn and thank you for sharing your amazingly beautiful card. I'm not the next person in this challenge either but I just needed to tell you that I absolutely love this card, the water coloring you did is stunning. I saw the video you are referring to and had to have that set.
Thank you again for sharing your lovely creation on LiveLoveCards.
    Hugs.

  4. Hello again, Dawn: After I posted my comment, I went to look at the other postings you have and I was so touched by what you explained on your first one. I've been also crafting for many years, love cross stitching, crocheting and knitting and I too put all of this aside and began making cards for the past 6 years or so. My blog is also very new, I started on December 9th. of last year after many of my crafting friends kept insisting I needed to share my art with more people. The cards I make are done from my heart and are given to my family and friends, I could never sell them and I could never see me doing this as a business. I also created this blog to share my love for the sport of Triathlon, I have been a Triathlete since 2003 and the years I spent competing have been some of the most thrilling of my life. I totally enjoy participating in challenges, there are some really fantastic ones out there. Some of the best are Mojo Monday, The Paper Players, Pals Paper Arts, Merry Monday, Simply Made Sketches, just to name a few. I've participated in the first three I've mentioned, it's fun, challenging and it gives you the chance to get out there and share your art with many people. Some also have prices, like Darlene's, who, on a personal note, is just as sweet as can be and a dear friend.
I'm almost 64 y/o, been married for almost 42 years to a wonderful man, we have 2 married daughters and 5 amazing, fabulous, loving grandchildren.
I hope you keep participating in Darlene's challenges, I wonder what challenge she'll have for us for the month of June. I also hope you check out this other challenges, it's a lot of fun.
Thank you again for sharing your gorgeous card.
    Many paper hugs.
    Maria.

    1. Hello Maria! Thank you so much for your kind words on my card. It was so thoughtful of you to take the time to tell me a little about yourself and the various challenges. I will have to check the suggested challenge sites out! TRIATHLETE? Wow, I'm impressed! All I can say is You Go Girl! Now that I know "where you are" on the Web (and assuming that you don't mind), I will check in on your site occasionally and watch out for your entries on Darlene's Live Love site. I feel that we have a lot in common (except the triathlon stuff LOL). My best to you and thanks again for taking the time to contact me.
      Best wishes,
      Dawn
